Duende

from $30.00

This print was made for the 2023 Call and Response, in which artists and poets came together and made work inspired by each other’s pieces. “Duende” was inspired by “Today the Sea” by Alinda Dickinson Wasner.

I modeled the dancer off a photo of Carmen Amaya, an incredibly powerful and talented dancer who is often considered to be the greatest flamenco dancer the world has seen.

Limited edition of 250.

_____

Image size of the original print is 8x10 and printed on 11×14 paper.

Image size of the reproduction print is a little less than 6x8 and printed on 8x10 paper - a standard frame size.

Please note that original prints will have variations in ink application and how dark/light the image is may vary from print to print. This is due to the handmade nature of the printmaking process.

Reproduction prints will not have variations in ink application from what you see in the photo listing - I have specifically chosen to scan originals that have overall excellent ink saturation but still have some minor chatter or other “imperfections” in order to make ensure some of the indications of the made-by-hand process remain.

Both original and reproductions are printed on non-acidic, archival papers.
